A Pin to See the Peepshow is a haunting adaptation of F. Tennyson Jesse's novel, inspired by the real Thompson-Bywaters murder case. Julia Jones's script follows shopgirl Julia Almond (played with brittle brilliance by Francesca Annis), whose daydreams of romance and escape spiral into obsession, adultery, and a fatal act of violence. This episode was first broadcast on Thursday the 26th July, 1973.
