Sunday Experience 01-25-26 | Christian-ish: Selective Obedience
Here’s a question that Jesus might ask us today:
Luke 6:46 (ESV) 46 “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?
Here’s why this is very important to Jesus:
John 14:15 (ESV) 15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
Notice what Jesus does not say:
• He doesn’t say, “If you love me, you’ll agree with me.”
• He doesn’t say, “If you love me, you’ll feel inspired by me.”
• He doesn’t say, “If you love me, your thoughts count”
He ties love directly to obedience. Obedience is Jesus’ love language. Jesus says
that if you truly love me, the only way to show it is be full complete obedience.
