China and India have agreed to de-escalate tensions on the disputed Himalayan border. The FM's of the two countries have vowed to take steps to restore peace and maintain the status quo following a high-level diplomatic meeting in the Russian capital, Moscow. Asia's two biggest countries faced off earlier this week after a clash in the disputed border area in the western Himalayas. In June, clashes broke out between the two nations, killings dozens of soldiers on both side - the deaths were the first since the border dispute started in 1967.
