Nellore is a city and district headquarters of Nellore district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located on the banks of Penna River and is the fourth most populous city in the state.

Nellore district (officially: Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district), located in Coastal Andhra region is one of the 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh. The population of the district according to the Census 2011 was 2,966,082 of which 29.07% were urban. Nellore city is its administrative headquarters. The district is bordered by the Bay of Bengal to the east, Kadapa district to the west, Prakasam District to the north, Chittoor district and Thiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu to the south.

YOYO TV channel declared on the basis of a survey that Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and YSR Congress party president, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will become the next chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. India today revealed the results of its survey in its latest Political Stock Exchange programme. The survey takes into account mood of the voters and changing political conditions in a dynamic situation leading to the elections.

The survey also revealed that in 2019 elections the principal adversaries were the YSR Congress party and TDP. Another fact which emerged was that people wanting to see Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan as the chief minister were getting fewer in number.

The survey stated that compared to Chandrababu Naidu, YS Jagan was 9% ahead. This can be interpreted as YS Jagan being perceived as a people’s person, said analysts on the show. Moreover, while YS Jagan was seen as an inheritor of Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy‘s legacy in 2014, now additionally he is being seen as a strong leader who has come into his own and can provide able leadership to the state. Clearly, in public perception he has grown in stature and popularity, YOYO TV analysts on the show said. They pointed out that YS Jagan‘s 14 month long Padayatra helped him reach out and connect with people across the state of Andhra Pradesh in a big way.

It was also pointed out that just as Dr YSR’s Padayatra across the length and breadth of Andhra Pradesh in 2003 helped the Congress party come to power, dislodge Chandrababu Naidu and importantly, helped the UPA form a coalition in 2004, similarly YS Jagan‘s Padayatra would help him in dethroning Chandrababu Naidu in the upcoming elections in the state.

Another point which came up for discussion was that even if the TDP and Congress may not have a formal alliance in Andhra Pradesh, they will have a secret understanding. Moreover, Chandrababu Naidu was cosying up to Rahul Gandhi, it was pointed out. At the time of bifurcation of AP, Chandrababu Naidu seemed to be in a state of confusion while YS Jagan was committed to the concept of a united Andhra Pradesh at that time.
