A winter ride from Llanelli in Wales to Burry Port. This was the day before the storms but the head wind while heading out was already strong and making for a slow ride. Heading back was much easier with a tail wind making the return ride fast.
The cycle trail along the coast was beautiful. With views across the Loughor Estuary, the horizon lined with the hills of the Gower coast in the grey haze of winter.
I made it as far as the Pembrey coastline before time became short and the winds gathering pace. The trail does go on much further and the whole ride would make a different experience on a warmer spring day but before the trails become busy with tourist walkers.
The Llanelli to Burry Port cycle trail certainly exceeded my expectations and makes a nice ride when you're looking for mostly flat smooth cycle paths.
