Decladding the Buick Regal TourX for GS (Opel Insignia GSi) Build

Описание: Follow me as I de-clad my 2018 Buick Regal TourX in favor of the clean Opel Insignia Sports Tourer. Special thanks to all those who inspired me to rebuild my Sports Tourer. As you may or may not know, this is my second build as my first one was totaled in a front end crash. This build took some time to acquire parts, especially the ACC sensor bracket that I had to get special ordered from Germany.

De-cladding Process: All cladding can be slowly/gently pulled off and removed except for the front bumper. To remove the adhesive behind the cladding, you just need an eraser wheel. ONLY USE ON METAL BODY PARTS. DO NOT use eraser wheel on plastic panels. Adhesive on the plastic panels (Rear Bumper) can be removed with goo gone automotive or any adhesive remover that won’t harm your paint.

Rear Bumper Process: You must have Opel Part # 39215182 to replace the factory exhaust cladding, the old part # is 39117536 just in case you come across that one, it can be used as well. Also, there may be aftermarket replacements you can get off Aliexpress.com but not advised… Also, with the Opel exhaust cladding it’s recommended to have the Opel Sports tourer rear side skirts which are Opel part numbers 39112658 and 39112659. If you do not get these, it’s not a big deal but the rear bumper will not “match” the GS side skirts once they’re installed. Side Skirts come in unpainted. After adhesive and factory exhaust cladding is removed you can install the Opel exhaust cladding and rear side skirts. You also just need to re-use the factory mounting bracket that sits on the inside of the rear fender well for the Opel side skirts.

Side Skirt Process: You just need to replace the factory side skirts with the 2018-2020 GS Sportback side skirts from GM. You’ll most likely break the clips on the factory skirt, which is fine, the GS Skirts come with all new clips. Just clean everything up and remove the small amount of adhesive behind the factory skirt. They’re part numbers 39132747 and 39132748. I got all my GM parts from gmpartsdirect.com. Skirts come in unpainted.
