Mainstage Tips for Worship Loops: #1 - Quickly create songs with click track & cues

This video shows how to quickly add new songs in a Mainstage concert and have those songs all reference the same click and vocal cue file. This is helpful for songs where you have no backing track but still want a click track and intro count in.

The steps to set this up are as follows:

1) Create two tracks on a patch, Click and Cues, and set them to the software instrument Playback
2) Sync those two Playback plugins but set their Group to be different (done by double clicking the plugin). Set the Cues plugin to use the "Polyphonic" flex mode. Set the time signatures for both plugins.
3) Make sure that your layout has both a Play button and a Cycle button
4) In a DAW software (Logic), export out two tracks as .caf files- a click track with a few measures of click and a vocal cues track that has one measure saying (INTRO-2-3-4-)
5) Import the two .caf files into the corresponding tracks and enable cycle.
6) Double click the Vocal Cues plugin and de-select the Cycle command. This will make the Click cycle over and over and the Cues give a one shot. If you did not do this, every measure you would continue to hear "Intro-2-3-4," when you really only want it the first measure to count the band in.
7) Set the patch tempo and click play. You should now hear the intro countoff with the click looping infinitely. When the song is over, click your stop button.

You can copy/paste that patch as many times as you need to make new songs. Simply set the new songs to their appropriate BPM and you're good to go. If your song is a different time signature than 4/4, create that separate click and cue file in Logic and perform the same steps.
