The CIA’s Secret Battle Inside Afghanistan’s Most Dangerous Fortress

Описание: In the chaotic weeks following 9/11, the CIA was thrust onto the front lines of the war in Afghanistan.

At a remote fortress near Mazar-i-Sharif, two CIA operatives enter one of the most dangerous environments imaginable. Their mission is to interrogate captured Taliban and al-Qaeda fighters and uncover intelligence that could help locate Osama bin Laden.

But inside the fortress, hundreds of heavily armed prisoners are waiting for their chance to strike.

When the uprising begins, the CIA team suddenly finds itself trapped in the middle of a massive battle. Outnumbered and surrounded, American and British special forces race to reinforce the fortress as air power is called in and the fight escalates.

Using declassified accounts and remarkable footage from the battlefield, this documentary reconstructs the Battle of Qala-i-Jangi, the desperate rescue attempts, the struggle to regain control of the fortress, and the intelligence operation that followed.
