A Russian volcano has erupted for the first time in recorded history spewing an ash plume 29,000ft into the sky.
Pilots were warned of flight dangers with a red aviation alert after the eruption of Krasheninnikov in the Kamchatka region of eastern Russia.
The volcano roared back to life after last week’s major 8.8 Richter scale earthquake off the Kamchatka peninsula which triggered tsunami warnings across the Pacific Ocean.
