Railroad Switching At The Grain Spur, Crew Waves From Rock Train, Cincinnati Eastern Railroad CCET

Описание: Chasing A Rock Train On A Short Line Railroad In Ohio! Railroad Switching On A Railroad Spur For A Grain Elevator. Conductor And Engineer Wave! Listen To These EMD Locomotives Earning Their Keep On The Norfolk Southern Railroad Peavine Line Near Cincinnati, Ohio. This Is A 69 Mile Railroad Branch Line With Classic Locomotives.
I heard the train approaching westbound so I headed to downtown Mount Orab, Ohio. We see it crossing the Rt68 railroad crossing and passing the train station and caboose. The train has an EMD SD40-2 and an EMD MP15DC with enough cars to be a "bakers dozen". Google that, it's very interesting.
I also chased it through Sardinia and Macon, Ohio before finally getting it at Winchester, Ohio. Here the crew had to spot a covered hopper car for Winchester Ag. It's always fun to watch railroad switching. This was a small job but pretty interesting. Listen to the locomotives as they go back and forth. There was a small group of us railfans watching. Chessie was also here.
I also got the train running east at Seaman, Ohio before heading home. When I got home I noticed that the farm across the road from me was busy with the harvest. Check out the awesome John Deere and Case equipment that they use. This video show them harvesting soy beans. Soy beans are the most popular crop in my area with corn coming in second. The area that I live in is an agricultural area. Land used to be very cheap in this area when I first moved here but in the last few years the land prices have gone through the roof.
CCET has 5 operational locomotives at the time of this video. They have an SD40-2, a couple of GP15-1 units, a B36-7 and a MP15DC. The other units are out of service but there are plans for more power. Which unit is your favorite? Please leave a comment.
