Webinar: Commitments from actors other than national Governments towards the KMGBF

Описание: The Seventh National Reports (7NR) to the CBD, due in February 2026, are a primary source of information for the first global review of collective progress in implementing the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF) to be undertaken at COP 17, including the implementation of national biodiversity targets and NBSAPs. The Online Reporting Tool (available at https://ort.cbd.int) is the official submission platform for 7NRs.

The KMGBF explicitly recognizes the critical role of actors other than national Governments—including the private sector, financial institutions, cities and subnational governments, Indigenous Peoples and local communities, civil society organizations, academia, and youth—in delivering the Framework’s goals and targets. Tracking and reflecting these contributions in national reporting is essential to demonstrate the whole-of-society approach required to halt and reverse biodiversity loss, and to ensure that commitments made through global and national initiatives are captured in the global review process.

This webinar will provide targeted guidance on how actors can submit commitments using the Online Reporting Tool and will help build understanding of the process among Parties to the CBD. It will explain where and how such information should be entered, how it links to KMGBF, and how the information can contribute to the global review of collective progress towards the implementation of the KMGBF.

The webinar is jointly organized by the CBD Secretariat, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and is part of the capacity development support from the GEF-8 Umbrella Programme to Support NBSAP Update and the 7NRs. The training will take place in English, with simultaneous interpretation in French and Spanish.
