Day 37 - Zero In Cascade Locks
Had a good breakfast and decided to take a cruise across the Columbia River on a triple-decker paddle wheeler. Great views of the area and we drove underneath the Bridge of the Gods, which was my highlight. After the cruise it was time for logistics: bus rides, plane ticket, rental car, where can I park my car for 4 days, resupply, new fires, lots and lots of planning.

Day 38 - Bus To Portland, Road To Yakima, WA
Another great breakfast and it was time to say goodbye. Puddles walked across the Bridge of the Gods into Washington. I took the bus to Portland, another bus to the airport and picked up my rental car. Drove about 3 hours to Yakima, WA and checked into a hotel for the night.

Day 39 - Logistics To Get To Harts Pass
Went to Walmart in Yakima and got a few cases of soda and Gatorade to take with me to the Lion‘s Den hostel in Mazama. Made it there after about 4 hours and found out that I can leave my car at Harts Pass. So glad, I double checked with a Ranger from the forest service. Spent some time at the hostel, which is a really great place for hikers. Drove to Winthrop, got pizza for dinner and stayed at the same hotel as in 2022. Will go back to the hostel tomorrow morning and take some hikers with me up to Harts Pass.
