By blending 10–20% green hydrogen into existing gas pipelines, industries can increase available gas supply, restore production capacity, and significantly reduce carbon emissions — all without major infrastructure changes.
Several leading energy companies in India are already working on hydrogen blending initiatives, including NTPC Limited, Gujarat Gas Limited, Adani Total Gas, GAIL Gas Limited, and Torrent Gas.
Through the National Green Hydrogen Mission, India aims to produce 5 million tonnes of green hydrogen annually by 2030, strengthening energy security and reducing fossil fuel imports.
