Hanging out and designing a couple of lamps from scratch in Plasticity - one inspired by a classic Harman Kardon speaker shape, and another radial heatsink-inspired piece that gets a bit out of hand.
In this stream, I walk through designing a two-part transparent cone lamp, working out the tolerances and assembly for 3D printing, then pivot to browsing heatsink references on AliExpress (as one does) before tackling a branching fin design. Lots of lofting, hollowing, booleans, and thinking out loud about print orientation and material choices.
