Wawoto Kacel Cooperative is based in the town of Gulu in northern Uganda. It is a social art and crafts cooperative created to provide a workplace for local people to earn a living. Most members of staff have been affected by either polio, HIV/AIDS or were forced to take part in the civil war which ended several years ago.
IRT regularly buys products from the co-op and sells them on our website or at local crafts fairs in London. We also select some images of their hand-made cards for our annual Christmas cards.
