R2R2R “Alt” - an alternate course for crossing the Grand Canyon…twice.
South Rim to North Rim and back to South Rim via the South Bass and North Bass trail.
42 miles of running, 12,000 feet of climbing and swimming across the Colorado river twice. What’s better than that? Going even further. We ended up with 46 miles and 18,000 feet of climbing, and not because we wanted to. Watch the video to find out why.
This trail is single track, un groomed, full of its share of bushwhacking and the only water sources are what you can find in streams and filter. It is true wilderness.
Ben Paxton and I shared laughs, excitement, frustration, exhaustion and everything in between. It was a fantastic day of adventuring with a good friend.
