Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA)

1. What is CMAAA?

CMAAA (Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan) is a flagship Assam Government scheme launched to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship among unemployed youth of Assam.
The scheme provides financial assistance, training, and mentoring to help youths start or expand small businesses.

2. Objectives of the Scheme

Reduce unemployment in Assam

Encourage entrepreneurship

Make educated and semi-educated youth self-reliant

Support small business creation

Promote economic development in the state

3. Phases of CMAAA

CMAAA 1.0: Launched in 2023, benefited over 25,000 youths

CMAAA 2.0: Launched in October 2024, target of 75,000 new beneficiaries

4. Financial Assistance

The scheme has two categories:

🔹 Non-Professional Category

Total assistance: ₹2,00,000

50% Grant (₹1,00,000)

50% Interest-free Loan (₹1,00,000)

Loan repayment period: 5 years


🔹 Professional Category

(For degree holders like Engineering, Agriculture, Veterinary, Medical, etc.)

Total assistance: ₹5,00,000

50% Grant + 50% Interest-free Loan

5. Installment Structure

First installment: ₹75,000

After mandatory training: ₹25,000

Final installment released based on business progress and verification

6. Eligibility Criteria

Permanent resident of Assam

Age limit: 28 to 45 years (for CMAAA 2.0)

Minimum education: Class 10 pass

Applicant must be unemployed/self-employed

Only one member per family is eligible

Applicant should not be a beneficiary of CMAAA 1.0

Must have a bank account

Mandatory entrepreneurship development training

In some cases, a training stipend is also provided

Guidance on business planning and implementation
