Govt Boosts LPG Supply by 20% Amid Crisis | Relief for Hotels, Workers

Описание: In a major step to tackle the ongoing LPG shortage, the Government of India has announced a 20% increase in gas allocation to states and union territories.

Neeraj Mittal has informed Chief Secretaries that the additional supply will begin from March 23, taking total LPG availability to 50% of pre-crisis levels.

The government has prioritised supply for:

Restaurants, dhabas, and hotels
Industrial canteens and food processing units
Community kitchens and migrant workers

States have also been directed to ensure strict monitoring to prevent diversion of LPG.

This move comes as supply chains remain under pressure due to tensions in West Asia, impacting fuel availability across India. The decision aims to provide relief to key sectors and stabilise essential services.
