On my 4th day on the board Explorer of the Seas, I woke up in Athens. Athens has the busiest port in Europe. Please keep that in mind when you plan to visit Athens via cruise ship and plan your trips accordingly.

Athens is a fantastic city full of history. But during the summer, exploring the city is very hard because of the heat and humidity. It was why I spent just 3 hours in the town and returned to the ship.
I explored the Plaka area and walked around the Acropolis. A limited number of people could go inside because of the heat.
