MATERIALS:
•Vegetable oil
•Food coloring or liquid watercolors
•Watercolor paper or card stock
•Droppers (optional)
•Cups, large shallow dish, forks, spoons


INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Pour a small amount of vegetable oil into a cup and add food coloring. Stir vigorously with a fork so the big drops of color are dispersed. Repeat with as many colors as you would like to use in separate cups.
2. Pour an inch of water into a shallow dish.
3. Use a dropper or spoon to transfer the oil + color mixture to the dish of water. Use one color or many.
4. Lay a sheet of paper on top of the water, then lift to reveal your marbled paper.
5. Lay flat to dry (the paper will feel oily at first but it soon absorbs).
6. Add more colors to the water and repeat!
7. After a couple of rounds, the water may be too saturated to get a pleasing effect. At that point, empty the dish and start fresh with a new layer of clean water.
