I am currently in Erie, PA, staring out at the snow and waiting for the biggest day of my life. In two days, I will undergo surgery for the OCU400 clinical trial.
In this diary entry, I want to share the unfiltered reality of this process. It’s not just about the procedure or the $20,000 cost; it’s about the daily reminders of what I am losing. Today, it was something as simple as not being able to find the coffee machine on my own.
The immunosuppressants have started, the nerves are setting in, and I am thinking a lot about the price of hope.
