One sneaky snake in the Russian wilderness in the 1960's leads to break away military junta leads to renegade special forces taking over a nuclear military facility in Alaska in the 90's. Kojima has displayed the butterfly effect front and center in which actions spiral far out of control with unintended effects years later. This parallels the history of the Cold War where small covert actions lead to massive outcomes later. We'll be exploring the real world covert actions, the political outcomes, and spirals of causality through the Cold War that inspired the Metal Gear Solid.
