Steel Ring 2025-11-14 (Toyota GR86 drifting onboard)

Описание: Not the greatest time this time, due to two issues - with tyre delamination and with track personnel. Regarding the latter, there were these new instructions that any painted surfaces are off limits ("drive between the white lines"), there were the aggressively placed anti-cuts in apexes, and most prominently there was the attempt to just forbid drifting altogether cca 20 minutes into the event (that fortunately didn't pan out).

Regarding the tyres, I've had issues like never before - even the 340 TW Zestino semislicks had spot delamination to the cords after the first session. Fortunately I was still able to drive on them for the rest of the event, and there were no further developments after that - so I suppose the lesson to learn is that (very) cold tyres (ambient temperature was 5 °C maybe?) need to be brought up to temperature more... carefully. (Not get the surface hot while the carcass is still super cold.)

Driving-wise I focused almost exclusively on the competition layout - it's the faster half of the track, more challenging, more interesting. With chunks of tread missing, though, I didn't want to ask too much of the tyres (this can be seen mainly in the pedestrian initiations into the competition layout).

Telemetry recorded and rendered with RaceChrono, synced by hand. Everything except GPS speed is captured from the car, GPS is from a smartphone (so low accuracy).
