Creativity often looks like doing nothing. To an outside observer the “incubation period” of a project—long walks, staring at the wall or your phone, breaks—look like procrastination.
The art of thought, and multiple studies in Psycholoy suggest that breaks and delay often lead to better results in innovation. REM sleep improves novel ideas; whereas forcing yourself only heightens stress.
