The WA government moved swiftly to re-introduce its hard border with the state after one case of the new fast-moving strain of COVID-19 was detected in Brisbane.
Greater Brisbane's three-day lockdown to stop the spread of the new strain will be lifted at six o'clock tonight, with some restrictions to stay in place until mid-January.
Western Australian Premier Mark McGowan says he can't commit to reopening the border until he gets further health advice.
