Russia importing gasoline?

That sounds impossible. Russia is one of the world's largest oil producers and one of the biggest exporters of fuel products on the planet. Yet after months of escalating Ukrainian drone attacks on refineries, fuel depots and energy infrastructure, Russia is now reportedly preparing to import gasoline by sea to prevent domestic shortages.

In this video, I look at how Ukraine's rapidly expanding drone campaign is creating growing problems for Russia's fuel sector, why gasoline exports have already been banned, why shortages are appearing in some regions, and why fuel supplies in Crimea are now reportedly being prioritised for military and government use.

I also discuss the latest attacks on Moscow's energy infrastructure, the growing economic consequences for Russia, rising fuel prices, and the enormous challenge of defending thousands of potential targets across the world's largest country.

With the UK announcing another 150,000 drones for Ukraine and Western support continuing to increase, this conflict is entering a new phase where economic infrastructure is becoming one of the most important battlefields.

This is no longer just a military story.

It's now a story about the functioning of the Russian economy itself.
