महाराजा एक्सप्रेस Maharaja Express देश की सबसे लग्जरी टूरिस्ट ट्रेन मानी जाती है और इसके लिए ट्रेन को कई अवॉर्ड तक मिल चुके हैं. यह ट्रेन अपने यात्रियों को राजधानी दिल्ली से लेकर आगरा, वाराणसी, जयपुर, रणथंभौर और मुंबई की सैर कराती है. इस ट्रेन के मिनिमम किराया करीब साढ़े पांच लाख रुपये है जबकि ट्रेन के प्रेसिडेंशियल सुइट का किराया तो करीब 38 लाख रुपये है, जो इस ट्रेन का मैक्सिमम किराया है.

यह ट्रेन अपने यात्रियों को महाराजा जैसा फील देती है तभी शायद इसका नाम महाराजा एक्सप्रेस रखा गया है. साल 2012 से 2017 तक इसे लगातार विश्व की सबसे लग्जरी ट्रेन का अवॉर्ड मिलता रहा है. ट्रेन अपने मुसाफिरों को कई तरह के ट्रैवल पैकेज देती है और इसमें प्रेसिडेंशियल सुइट, एक्सप्रेस सुइट, जूनियर सुइट और डीलक्स कैबिन शामिल हैं. ये राजस्थान, उत्तर प्रदेश के शहरों के अलावा दक्षिण भारत के प्रसिद्ध स्थलों की यात्रा भी करवाती है.
ऐसी लग्जरी सुविधाओं से लैस
लग्जरी ट्रेन किसी आलीशान महल से कम नहीं है. इस ट्रेन के AC का टेंपरेचर 25 डिग्री सेल्सियस रहता है. रूम में टीवी, इंटरकॉम, कॉफी मेकर और कप, अटेच बाथरूम में गरम और ठंडा पानी के अलावा किसी 5 स्टार होटल जैसी सारी सुविधाएं मौजूद हैं. इसके अलावा यात्रियों के लिए हर सुबह न्यूज पेपर और चाय भी कमरे तक पहुंचाई जाती है. ट्रेन में इंडोर गेम्स, बार, इनेटेरेक्टिंग रूम, मेल बॉक्स, मेडिकल सुविधाएं भी मौजूद हैं. भारतीय रेलवे ने महाराजा एक्सप्रेस की शुरुआत साल 2010 में की थी.
