Ok the first comment of the week comes from J Day.

He wrote: “Someone just backed into me and the police towed my car but now the other people are not answering the phone to tell there side of the story so insurance company can't move forward. What do I do????!!!”

He should watch my video on should I file with my own insurance company

• So important to file with your own insurance company
o Benefits: UM/UIM, collision, medpay
o Get claim taken care of faster
o May get paid more

Second comment of the week came from Yeimi.

She wrote: “I live in New York City and there is a new law that the police does not write police reports any longer unless there is death, injury and or a hit and run. The police only suggest the persons involved to notify the dmv that there was an accident. Now the problem is that the insurance is asking for a police report!”

She should watch my video on should I file a police report after an accident.

• In this situation, strongly recommend going to police department and filing report on your own
• Need to get this on the record

The third comment of the week was from Amin and he watched my video on dog bite laws.

He wrote “I got bitten by a dog during my work as moving I was getting paid cash
What option do I have here?”

• As I said last week, getting dog bite comments constantly now
• Do these three things
o Call the police
o Get medical treatment
o Find out if there is homeowner’s or renter’s insurance

Fourth comment of the week came from Connor. He watched my video on lawyer fees in personal injury cases.

He wrote “What if i pay my 33% and my insurance offer me more ,do i have to pay them more”

   • How Much are Lawyer Fees in Personal Injur...  

• He’s asking if he recovers from UIM does he have to pay his attorney for that too?
• Generally speaking yes

Fifth comment of the week from Zach

He wrote “what can I do? . . . the cop said I was at fault for failure to … yield at a stop sign . . . it was in a shopping parking lot with cameras and (the cop) didn't bother to check them --- he said based on his judgement he didn't need to. . . Is that acceptable can I fight this . . . ?”

• You can definitely fight this – cop’s beliefs are not evidence.
• But the insurance company will likely use the police report to make determination re: liability
• Also subpoena videotape – get an attorney or file a lawsuit and do it yourself. But act quick or the video may get erased
