Mariah was diagnosed with sickle cell disease three days after she was born. She received two blood transfusions due to sudden complications caused by the disease.
Today, she is happy and healthy and her parents, Chris and Tamara, encourage the African-American community to donate blood to help save and improve the lives of sickle cell patients like their daughter.
