Описание: On a busy Monday, while maintenance work was going onin my bedroom, bathroom & backyard door at my home, with hustle & bustle of electricians, masons & plumbers, my domestic staff & I were busy in packing sweetsto send to my relatives, neighbours & the domestic staff on the occasion of upcoming Makarsankrant,
a non-venomous/non poisonous Oriental Rat-Snake (धामण)
(Ptyas Mucosa) came out of a drainage hole at the scullery in our backyard at about 12:34pm. An assistant of the electrician noticed it first & brought it to my notice through my domestic staff. They ssuggested killing it but I stopped them. As the floor-tiles at the backyard door were just placed with et cement, I was unable to go out using my wheelchair & check but I immediately instructed them all to keep a watch, click & send me the photo of the snake if possible, so that I could immediately send it to the Snake-Rescuers & quickly complete the basic preparation for its rescue operation (for ex. An empty plastic jar with lid). I kept supervising the situation as much as I could while being near the backyard.
I called Shri. Sarvesh Pawar who was already in another such rescue operation but came as quickly as he could. Meanwhile, I had also contacted his mentor, Prof. Shri. Chandrashekhar Salunkhe (from ICS College, Khed) for guidance as usual, as Shri. Salunkhe Sir is one of my professors from college days. Also, I called my father to come in case any other help is required during the rescue operation.
With a quick response & swift actions, when every second counted, the snake was successfully rescued within few minutes & taken back to the forest areas near my town by Shri. Sarvesh Pawar & his assistant.
