Описание: Internal or Interior rain screens mimic not having any insulation in your walls. Millions of buildings around the world have no insulation. When a brick wall gets wet, it dries three dimensionally – to the outside, inside and the water vapor rises up through the structure.

Find out what happens when Kelly uses corrugated plastic to line the interior walls of a 9,000 square foot castle made of Split Face Block. He turned the whole building into a linear teapot that reduced his client's cooling load by over 20%. Kelly now uses rain screen on new construction as well as retrofitting on existing masonry or even historic masonry.

Kelly says that while the construction industry endorses the use of high efficiency foams and other means of sealing up the block, what they're doing is inadvertently trapping the moisture in the buildings, because buildings are not vacuums, air is always going to get into a building.

Kelly continues, when we open up a building, we don't know what kind of insulation we're going to find. When its foam, its always wet just behind the foam insulation, even if the building has been waterproof from the outside.
Consequently, when our venting system is installed on top of a parapet wall, it creates a wet to dry effect, that draws moisture up and out of the wall.

Condensation control, interior rain screens, three dimensional drying, these components are why masonry buildings work properly with WickRight devices installed.

Per Kelly, his construction company has had tremendous success drying out masonry historic and contemporary structures retro-fitted with foam insulation.

Interestingly, the historic buildings he is referring to were also repointed with the wrong mortar which changed the drying dynamics of the old brick. Couple that with spray foam insulation applied to the interior of the soft clay brick and the walls have been sealed on both sides. Since soft clay brick has the ability to absorb naturally produced condensation, now there's water sitting throughout the structure. When that moisture radiates through the foam, it smells. Bad.
