As written in the program, "The Cotton Club Orchestra was led by violinist Andy Preer until his untimely death in 1927. The nucleus of the band survived to become 'The Missourians', and later Cab Calloway's orchestra. Colin Hancock (the 2019 recipient of the YTA [Youth Talent Award]), returns to lead this session which feature music by the orchestra and a quartet from its ranks led by Harry Cooper."
