HELP! 05 Ford Escape Bad Coil Drivers?

Working on a friend's car. He was driving home, engine stumbles and stalls. Towed home, it'd start and die. Myriad of codes, made notes of 'em, cleared codes, and started trying to find consistency.
Currently, cylinders #1-#4 are showing no coil control. Fuel injectors are firing, coils aren't. 1-3 are under the intake manifold, but #4 coil had a low primary resistance (0.4 ohms vs. 1.2 ohms on #5 and #6).
This happened very suddenly, and it looks like all four coil drivers in the PCM are shot, but...Really? This seems very unlikely. I feel like I've missed something, and I'm not ready to call the PCM just yet.
If I do call a PCM, all six coils are getting replaced as well.
Input would be appreciated! I'm working with a very limited tool set at the moment (Torque Pro, test light, meter; no scope, no factory scantool support).
