This video investigates how easy it is to weaponize a drone, and whether we’re ready to stop it.

Drones have become cheaper, faster, and smarter. In Ukraine, tens of thousands are used on the front lines. Most of them are modified racing drones, built using off-the-shelf parts and controlled by regular soldiers.

To see how dangerous this could be outside of a war zone, I gave my friend seven days to learn how to fly an FPV drone and carry out a simulated attack on a house. He had no experience. Just a controller, a simulator, and one week to train.

Along the way, I spoke with experts in drone warfare, military AI, and counter-drone systems. We looked at how drones are being used by terrorists, cartels, and regular armies. We also tested whether current laws and technologies are enough to stop them.

One part of the story stood out.

On June 1st, 2025, Ukraine launched 117 AI-guided drones deep into Russia.
They destroyed a large part of Russia’s strategic bomber fleet, worth billions.
The drones were hidden in fake wooden sheds mounted on trucks, smuggled into Russia, and left parked just two miles from the targets. They launched without human pilots nearby, flew themselves across the final distance, and used AI to hit fuel tanks and missile mounts. It was the first large-scale drone strike carried out without human control.
