Three mysterious murders centered on a mining operation near the Grand Canyon have Sheriff Les Martin (Cornel Wilde) puzzled. Lacking any clues, Les enlists his girlfriend and daughter of a retired mine owner, Janice Kendon (Victoria Shaw), and bartender Scott O'Brien (Mickey Shaughnessy) to help with the case. Once they manage to identify one of the victims, Janice's brother, Bob (Rian Garrick), leads her and Lee to a rendezvous with an associate who, along with being behind the murders, is also stealing valuable gold ore to sell on the black market in Mexico. And after the smuggler shoots Bob and kidnaps Janice, Sheriff Martin is drawn into a dangerous - and deadly -- chase high above the Grand Canyon's floor.
