The conflict between Israel and Iran has escalated into a full regional war involving strikes across the Middle East, naval warfare, foreign involvement, and widespread civilian impact. U.S. and Israeli forces continue coordinated attacks on Iranian military infrastructure, Hezbollah positions in Lebanon, and Iranian naval vessels in the Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean. According to U.S. officials, the Iranian Air Force and significant portions of its navy have been destroyed. Twenty Iranian naval ships are confirmed lost, and the Iranian commander involved in plotting a 2024 assassination attempt on President Trump has been killed.

Iran has responded with missile attacks across the region, including strikes near the Syrian airport, attempts to penetrate Turkish airspace, and ballistic missile launches at Israel. Ten Israeli civilians have died in Iranian strikes, including nine near Jerusalem when a synagogue and nearby homes were hit. Hezbollah and Iran have launched hundreds of ballistic missiles and thousands of drones, though Israeli and U.S. officials say Iran’s capabilities are diminishing daily as launchers are systematically destroyed.

The death of Ayatollah Khamenei has created uncertainty within Iran. His son is the favored successor, but Israel vows to strike any future Supreme Leader. Reports also indicate Kurdish fighters are operating inside Iran near the Iraqi border. Iran’s regional strategy appears to be backfiring, with more nations joining the U.S.–Israel coalition in response to Iranian attacks on Azerbaijan, Gulf states, and other regional targets. Israeli leaders, including Ambassador Danny Danon, warn that Iran is trying to set the region on fire as its regime destabilizes.

In Washington, U.S. leaders assert they have enough munitions for a prolonged conflict, while Israel pushes deeper into underground Iranian missile facilities. Jerusalem has closed holy sites, including the Temple Mount, after an Iranian warhead recently landed nearby.

Along Israel’s northern border, Druze communities have begun IDF‑supervised emergency defense training after previous deadly Hezbollah attacks. Hundreds nationwide have joined rapid‑response units to protect their towns until regular forces arrive. These units focus on urban combat readiness, community defense, and building trust between Druze residents and the IDF.
