This Doesn't Feel Like France... But It Is

Описание: Welcome to the France you never knew existed!

Today we're in Cayenne, the capital city of French Guiana.

Seen as we're officially in France we had to kick things off with breakfast in a French bakery, absolutely unreal.

The rest of our morning was spent wandering the streets of Cayenne and meeting the people who call this little overseas French department home. We even went for a walk through the 'Chicago' of Cayenne, an area that we later found out is the most dangerous in French Guiana.

While exploring the city we met a local lad named Yannick who gave us a lift across the city in the scorching sun and later on drove us to some of French Guiana's best beaches where we had some strong rum cocktails.

With many Chinese migrants coming to this part of the world for work we got ourselves some bowls of hand pulled Sichuan noodles, yep... they were divine. A welcome change from South American food anyway!

Things quickly went dark and we had a problem, our accommodation was like a 2 hour walk away in a city that isn't too safe at night.

We pushed our luck and asked a young couple picking up a takeaway if they'd give us a ride across the city... It was our lucky day, the legends gave us a lift right to our door.
