Dawhenya’s sanitation situation has become a major concern for residents, following protests by 876 Gad over clogged gutters, wastewater issues, and lack of action by local authorities.
In this video, we respond to a recent cleanup video released by the Dawhenya North Assembly Member and share a counter-response from 876 Gad, who insists that any cleanup exercise must be properly planned, announced, and supported with the right machines and equipment.
I also had a direct phone conversation with the Dawhenya South Assembly Member, Hon. Akwe Tenati, where he explained:
• Why a major cleanup has not yet been done due to upcoming road construction
• The launch of Operation Clean Your Frontage, making shop owners responsible for clearing gutters in front of their stores
• Weekly enforcement and fines by sanitation officers
• Proper wastewater management, including household manholes and government waste extraction services
• The shared responsibility of keeping Dawhenya clean
The Assembly has promised a major town-wide cleanup on the first Saturday of February 2026.
This video brings clarity, accountability, and information to the people of Dawhenya and neighboring communities.
