A huge thank you to the amazing team for working with me again! I was inspired to make up some adlibs of my own this time and I think they turned out nicely! :3c VESEN’s mixes are so well done, every time I get a mix back, I just have to sit there and take it in for a second like…wow… He truly helps bring out the best with his mixing skills!!! There were a few adlibs that I wasn't too sure about and he blended them in absolutely seamlessly 🥹 AGEKK woke up early this time to help record harmonies for me and they turned out so so lovely, I think it really gave it that final layer of extra depth! I’ve been swooning over chicken’s art ever since I received the wips… The background is absolutely gorgeous and if you look closely, there's a few motifs of mine that she implemented! Ash’s animation truly brought everything all together, especially the puppetting!?!? I think I nearly cried after seeing everyone's hard work all compiled together for the first time in this MV… (Shoutout to twt user duoduoyuu! yuu (鱼)’s HCQ compilation is an amazing document that compiles lore and in-game materials, I highly recommend reading through if you'd like a better understanding of in-game materials detailing about the High Cloud Quintet!) Please be sure to check them all out, they’re all amazing at what they do! Super grateful to Will Stetson, Miyolophone, niu arx, softmode and niqte for creating this song! The grip this team’s music has on me is so strong…hahaha………

When I think about Jingliu, I think about memories, and how some people believe that we recall the last time we thought of the memory instead of the actual memory; which is pretty unreliable, so we never truly remember anything perfectly—We simply remember it as what we believe it to be. Jingliu’s a very tragic and delicate character where most of her growth is hidden behind her character stories and in-game materials—she’s someone who has to remember what the others have forgotten or refuse to acknowledge, yet she can’t recall the memories that are most dear to her anymore. There’s the literal reflection here, but also reflection as in looking back at past actions and decisions, as well as the consequences that surround them. Despite being struck with mara, I wonder how Jingliu felt, after being wiped from history, but not quite forgotten; only scorned and disgraced. This song feels like it’s something out of a grand musical, where the actor takes the stage for the last time as the character they’ve been playing, training and living as for a few moments every day… Like, the last song you’d hear before it all fades to darkness and the curtains draw. At the same time, it feels like a love letter to the moments that have become memories— to all the regrets and hardships you’ve had to face to reach a place of understanding within yourself. Or something, I guess. Anyways, she's a pretty (and) cool character! please come home in your rerun…
