Special Relativity: Why Light Cones Rule Causality
A short visual explainer on special relativity through its most important picture: the light cone. We show why keeping the speed of light fixed forces space and time to tilt together, how Lorentz transformations mix t and x, and why time dilation is geometry rather than a broken clock.
Key idea:
t prime = gamma times (t minus v x divided by c squared)
gamma = 1 divided by square root of (1 minus v squared divided by c squared)
Different observers slice spacetime differently, but they agree on the invariant interval and on the causal boundary set by light.
