Situated close to the arctic sea, Teriberka feels like it is the northernmost point on the Russian mainland. By the end of the 19th century, it was well-developed: having a church, a lighthouse, and a weather station (the first one on the Murmansk coast). but what was once a thriving city is almost in ruins now - The living quarters that house the few residents who still live here have aged deeply due to the constant battering from the harsh arctic weather.
The natural elements combined with the century-old ruins left behind by European merchants and past residents create an interesting landscape - I was lucky enough when I got a chance to visit this place couple of months back - I carried only the trusted EOS R6 with me and a Canon 35mm f1.4 L series lens which was paired with a 1/4 pro mist filter.
