this car runs badly and I was asked to replace the injectors seals, however when I got there they were not leaking, so I had a look to see what was wrong.
I found the fuel pressure much higher than expected.
I would normally see 1 volt at the fuel pressure sensor with the ignition switched on, and 1.3 volts when idling.
this was 2.5 volts
so I checked that the fuel rail pressure sensor was believable with a mechanical gauge, it was so I checked the fuel metering valve in the high pressure fuel pump was being controlled and it was. this left me to calling a faulty fuel metering valve, it is putting too much fuel into the rail.
