We all acknowledge that God’s thoughts are higher than man’s thoughts, and that there are always God’s wisdom and mysteries within God’s words and work. So, what did the Lord Jesus mean by saying “of that day and hour knows no man”? Many people take it literally and think that no one knows when the Lord returns. But is this the case? The Lord once said, “And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go you out to meet him” (Matthew 25:6). If no one knew when the Lord came, how could there be some people sharing the good news “the bridegroom comes”? And how could we be raptured by the Lord to the kingdom of heaven? Clearly, there is a mystery to seek in the Lord’s words. So what does “of that day and hour knows no man” truly mean? Don’t be anxious.
