Today we hike Mount Sunday, the real filming location for Edoras (Rohan) from The Lord of the Rings.
In this episode of The Scenic Route, we drive from Christchurch into New Zealand’s high country, make an unexpected stop at Burnett Quarry Reserve (historic limestone quarry + stone cottage), then push deeper on Ashburton Gorge Road with gravel roads, big skies, and snow still sitting on the peaks. And to finish the day… a Lake Camp swim.
