Описание: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has apologized for the traffic inconvenience caused to Nairobi residents during his three day visit. Thousands of commuters were stranded Tuesday and Wednesday following the closure of several key roads.

Tuesday morning, motorists found themselves caught in long traffic jams with some key roads closed as part of security arrangements for the Israeli Prime Minister. On the evening of the same day, Netanyahu apologized for the inconvenience that saw hundreds of people walk to work.

“I understand there is a traffic problem, I have to tell you I don’t understand, we were driving through Nairobi and there was no traffic problem. Nonetheless I’m sorry. I apologize to the people of Kenya who have to wait for a long time,” said the Israeli PM.

The Prime Minister, who left the country for Rwanda Wednesday morning, spoke at a State dinner on Tuesday evening.

Nairobi resident could, however, face more disruptions in coming weeks when more high profile visitors jet in.

Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is set to visit the country on Sunday, July 10th for a two-day visit during which he will hold bilateral talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta. The two leaders will discuss ways of strengthening trade among other issues.

And from July 17th to 22nd, Nairobi will host over six thousand delegates attending the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) conference.
