The FTC alleges that Zillow entered into a deal with Redfin worth around $100 million that effectively removed a competitor from the multifamily rental-listing advertising market.

The agency claims this is an unlawful agreement under antitrust laws because it reduces competition, which could lead to higher costs and fewer choices for renters, property managers, and ultimately home-buyers or sellers.

Why should you care in Metro Atlanta?
Even though this lawsuit is national in scope, the real-estate ecosystem is deeply interconnected. If major listing portals change how they operate, it might affect how quickly your home finds a buyer, how many offers you see, or even how easily you can find properties.
