I met this little colourful Crimson Sunbird in North Vietnam.
It was super active, flitting from perch to perch, before settling down to call in what appeared to be an agitated manner.
It was a male Crimson Sunbird of the subspecies (tonkinensis), found only in in Northeastern Vietnam & Southern China. Apart from sporting more prominent iridescent purple-blue moustachial streaks, there wasn't much obvious differences in looks when compared with the nominate race.
The Crimson Sunbird's habitats include forests, gardens & cultivated areas. This was was seen at the forest edge.
