This is the grand masterpiece "Sri Dakshinamurthe" in the majestic Raga Shankarabharanam, a quintessential composition by Muthuswamy Dikshitar.
In this performance, Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer brings his legendary "Semmangudi Bani" to one of the most substantial kritis in the Carnatic repertoire, accompanied by the soulful violin of Annavarapu Ramaswamy and the rhythmic brilliance of Yella Venkateswara Rao on the mridangam.

Why This Version is Special
The Guru's Aura: As an invocation to the primordial Guru, Semmangudi’s rendition is often described as meditative yet powerful, perfectly matching the "Chowka Kala" (slow tempo) grandeur typical of Dikshitar’s compositions.
Violin & Mridangam Synergy: The interplay between Annavarapu Ramaswamy's traditionalist violin and Yella Venkateswara Rao's intricate mridangam accompaniment provides a rich texture to the expansive Raga Shankarabharanam.
