Classic Old Time Radio, Vintage radio shows, the Golden Age of radio, murder, mystery, drama, comedy, sci-fi, westerns.
"15 Storeys High" is a darkly comic and surreal sitcom created by Sean Lock, set in a bleak South London tower block where eccentricity and isolation reign supreme.
The series follows Vince Clark, a misanthropic recluse with a dry wit and a deep aversion to social interaction. He lives in Flat 76, where his worldview is shaped by paranoia, petty grievances, and philosophical rants. In Series 2, Vince is joined by Errol Spears, a naive and optimistic lodger whose cheerful demeanor clashes hilariously with Vince’s cynicism.
Each episode offers a slice of life from the tower block, with scenes introduced by flat numbers rather than traditional transitions. The humor is observational, absurd, and often melancholic—capturing the strange rituals, awkward encounters, and quiet desperation of urban living.
Series Overview
Series 1 (1999): Introduces Vince and the bizarre residents of the block. Themes include loneliness, obsession, and the absurdity of modern life.
Series 2 (2000): Adds Errol to the mix, creating a classic odd-couple dynamic. Episodes explore Vince’s attempts to control his environment and Errol’s gentle disruptions.
Cast
Sean Lock as Vince
Peter Serafinowicz as Errol (radio version)
Plus appearances by Felix Dexter, Jenny Eclair, Tracy-Ann Oberman, and others
The radio series laid the groundwork for the later TV adaptation, but retains a unique charm with its audio-only format and surreal interludes.
