Dollywood has a reputation. Between the Dolly Parton nostalgia, the Smoky Mountain setting, and a mix of family rides and serious roller coasters, this theme park draws a wide range of opinions. Some people swear it’s one of the best parks in the country.

We spent the day testing it all- from the high-speed launch of FireChaser Express to the eerie drops on Mystery Mine, and the sweeping views on Wild Eagle. Even the old-school Blazing Fury ride made the list.

What surprised us most wasn’t what we expected going in. This Dollywood experience had a few standout moments, a couple of odd ones, and at least one coaster that made us completely rethink coasters all together.
